Prince Frederick VFD Announces Passing of Pat Chief Wayne Hardesty

The Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department regrets to announce the untimely passing of Past Fire Chief Wayne Hardesty (1999-2000). He was a life member of PFVFD, served in many capacities and our hearts are hanging very heavily during this time.

On Saturday, August 8, 2020 at approximately 1100 hours, a procession will escort Chief Hardesty from Rausch Funeral home(Broomes Island Road)to the Huntingtown VFD where services will occur.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to thePrince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department.


Per the expanded mask order issued by Governor Hogan on July 31, 2020, all Marylanders over the age of five are required to wear face coverings in the public spaces of all businesses across the state. Face coverings will also be required in outdoor public areas, whenever it is not possible to maintain physical distancing. The expanded order continues to provide certain exceptions, including for medical conditions.
