Leonardtown, MD- Join us on December 6th from 5-8 PM and have fun finding Mr. Grinch! Yes, the famous “cuddly as a cactus and charming as an eel” legend will be out and about on First Friday! Will you be able to find him?
Simple clues will be made available for location hints, along the way enjoy special holiday activities such as storytimes, crafts, sharing hot chocolate and cookies, and much more on your journey. There will be a wide variety of events for all ages and interests, be sure to bring your family and friends for an evening of festive fun and entertainment. The Town will be decorated as inspired by “Whoville”, the fictional happy place created long ago by Dr. Seuss. Take a stroll and vote for the best-decorated business as part of the “Light Up Leonardtown” contest.
Other highlights of the evening will include the SoMar Drummers, present from 7-8 PM at their new winter location at the Town Hall, 22670 Washington St. All ages and skill levels are welcome for the audience participation Drum Circle. Bring your percussion instrument or borrow it from one of those provided.
The North End Gallery will be hosting a reception for their 33rd Annual Holiday show “Sparkling Seasons” with Patina + Stone Studio also holding a holiday reception, light refreshments will be served at both galleries.
The Port of Leonardtown Winery will host live music with The Whiskey Diplomats, studio workshops will be at Wine & Design and Board & Brush, special activities at Shepherd’s Old Field Market are scheduled, shops and restaurants will be open late and offering one-night-only specials, and MUCH, MUCH MORE!
The trishaw from Cycling Without Age will be fully decked on out lights offering free rides to anyone who would like one! Details about these and other events are available on the First Fridays Facebook page as there are too many to include here.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.
To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community. For now, donations will be going to a business PayPal account I have set-up for the Southern Maryland Chronicle, KDC Designs. All business transactions currently occur within this PayPal account.
