PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – Nov. 15, 2019 – The Calvert County Department of Economic Development encourages citizens to participate in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30, 2019, by doing their holiday shopping at Calvert County businesses. The holidays are here, and many small and local businesses will offer seasonal deals to celebrate.

Citizens can visit www.eCalvert.com/ShopLocal for a list of businesses offering specials, discounts, and giveaways during the event. Calvert County is home to a variety of unique businesses with eclectic offerings, delicious delicacies, vintage mementos and so much more. Take the opportunity to find the perfect holiday present or treat yourself while supporting businesses and jobs within your own community.

Small Business Saturday falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, during one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. While the small business holiday was created by American Express, it is now recognized by communities nationwide.

Shopping locally increases the tax base of Calvert County, ultimately creating a thriving community and a better quality of life for citizens. For more information, contact Kathy.macadams@calvertcountymd.gov or 410-535-4583.
