Baltimore, MD- The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the St. Mary’s County shoreline until 2 pm on October 22, 2019. A Coastal Flood Watch has been issued until 6 p.m. on October 22, 2019.

The tidal departure is expected to be 1 1/2 ft to 2 ft above normal around the time of high tide. High tide in St. Mary’s will occur between 8:28 a.m. and 10:04 a.m., with the evening high tide between 9:03 p.m. and 10:24 p.m.

Up to a one-half foot of inundation above ground level is possible. At 3.0 feet, yards are flooded on Saint George Island, and water will begin covering the road leading to the island, especially if there is wave action.

In addition to the St. Mary’s County advisores/watches, the NWS has also issued a Coastal Flood Advisory until 2 p.m. on October 22, 2019, for the Calvert County Shoreline.

Calvert’s tidal departure is expected to be 1 1/2 ft to 2 ft above normal. High tide at Solomons Island is 9:08 a.m. and Chesapeake Beach at 11:09 a.m.it will be possible for tides to reach 3 feet above normal. Places like Charles Street in Solomons could begin to flood with several inches of water.
