Pedestrian struck in Waldorf, Route 5 closed

Waldorf, MD(6:40 p.m.)- The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has closed Leonardtown Road between Post Office Road and Gough Drive for a pedestrian struck.

Charles County Volunteers PIO Bill Smith tells the Southern Maryland Chronical that the victim is a male, with a skull fracture. The victim is in critical condition and will be flown to an area trauma center by MEDEVAC.

Watch for emergency vehicles and personnel. Expect significant delays in the area and find an alternate route if possible.
