News Release, College of Southern Maryland

The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Theater Program will present the Swedish play “Miss Julie” by August Strindberg Oct. 11-13 and Oct. 17-19 at the Brad and Linda Gottfried Theater, Fine Arts Center on the La Plata Campus.

On Midsummer Eve, Miss Julie, the daughter of a count, sleeps with her father’s valet, Jean. The subsequent conflict between sexual passion and social position – which leads to a dark end – also deals with naturalism and class issues and is presented with startling modernity. Due to adult themes and situations, the production may not be suitable for younger audiences.

Performances are Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12 at 8 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 17, Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. The Brad and Linda Gottfried Theater, Fine Arts Center (FA Building) is located at 8730 Mitchell Road in La Plata.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for military/seniors/youth. For more information email bxoffc@csmd.edu, call 301-934-7828 or visit online at https://www.csmd.edu/community/the-arts/.
