Calvert County Incident Briefs for October 8, 2019

During the week of September 30 – October 6 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,466 calls for service throughout the community.

Burglary: 19-57316

On October 1, 2019, Deputy Gilmore and Detective Cress responded to 27th Street in Chesapeake Beach for the report of a burglary. The complainant advised that sometime between 8:00 am and 12:10 pm an unknown suspect(s) broke into his home and stole various items, as well as damaged various items. The estimated value of the stolen property is $2,360 and the value of the damaged property is $480.

Damaged Property: 19-57274

On October 1, 2019, Deputy Sturdivant responded to Old Town Road in Huntingtown for the report of the damaged property. The complainant advised that sometime in the evening on September 30th an unknown suspect(s) knocked down their fence. The estimated value of the damaged property is $100.

Damaged Property: 19-57346

On October 1, 2019, Deputy Wilder responded to St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Prince Frederick for the report of the damaged property. The complainant advised that sometime between 5:00 pm on September 27th and 5:00 pm on September 28th an unknown suspect (s) vandalized two donation boxes on the property. The estimated value of the damaged property is $150.

Damaged Property: 19-57558

On October 2, 2019, Deputy Naughton responded to Hemlock Road in Lusby for the report of the damaged property. The complainant advised that sometime between September 17th and September 25th an unknown suspect(s) damaged his rear sliding glass door and a non-sliding rear entrance door. The estimated value of the damaged property is $240.

Damaged Property: 19-57568

On October 2, 2019, Deputy Naughton responded to Cordova Drive in Lusby for the report of the damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between 6:00 pm on September 29th and 10:00 am on September 30th an unknown suspect(s) attempted to break into his vehicle leaving multiple dents and scratches. The estimated value of the damaged property is $1,000.

Theft: 19-57059

On September 30, 2019, Deputy Deleon-Suero responded to the Sheriff’s Office for the report of a theft. The complainant advised that sometime between September 23rd and September 29th an unknown suspect(s) stole his prescribed medication from his safe.

Theft: 19-57275

On October 1, 2019, Deputy Wood responded to Safeway in Dunkirk for the report of a theft. The complainant advised that sometime between September 23rd and October 1st an unknown suspect(s) broke into the air pump machine and stole the money from inside. The estimated value of the stolen property is $300 and the value of the damaged property is $6,000.


The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.

To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
