Police on the scene of a reported stabbing in Nanjemoy

UPDATE 8:22 a.m.- The Southern Maryland Chronicle has learned that the suspect broke into the home of the victims and stabbed two victims. The suspect is known to the victims.

Both victims have survived the attack, and one was MEDEVAC to an area trauma center. Police have established a perimeter in the area of Route 6 and Holly Spring Road to search for the suspect.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Police have not released a description at this time.

UPDATE 7:50 a.m.: CCSO is actively searching for an armed assailant in the area of Rt 6 and Holly Springs Rd.  Please use caution and be aware of suspicious people in the area.

Nanjemoy, MD- At approximately 6:45 a.m., Charles County Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of Port Tobacco Road in Nanjemoy, MD for a reported stabbing.

Preliminary reports suggest either two adults with stab wounds or two adults involved.

Watch for emergency vehicles and personnel. Expect delays in the area.
