News Release, Town of North Beach
Celebrate the annual Fall migration of birds with North Beach’s first Big Sit Birding Weekend.
We will do a kickoff event with an evening Owl Prowl on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 7 pm. Meet at the parking lot of Wetlands Overlook Park, dress for weather and flashlights are allowed. For ages 6 & up. No strollers on a woodland trail. Free.
Big Sit Day on Sunday, October 13, 2019, from 7 am to 3 pm. It’s like a tailgating party that’s for the birds! We will set up in our count circle in the parking lot by our visitor’s center to bird all day, counting all the species we see flying, swimming or walking by! Bring chairs, binoculars, snacks, and hats. All invited. This national event is held at many count circles throughout the USA annually during Fall migration. You don’t have to stay all day but do come out. Finish the weekend with our Tally Rally dinner locally at @5pm.
