Grease Fire at Waldorf Moose Lodge in White Plains closes portion of Crain Highway

UPDATE: All lanes are now open

UPDATE 7:40 p.m.- Crain Highway Southbound from Theodore Green Blvd to Marshalls Corner Road is shut down to one lane. Southbound traffic is still being diverted to Marshalls Corner Road.

Per Bill Smith, PIO for CCVFEMS, the fire originated in a kitchen fryer and extended into the exhaust system and attic space.

UPDATE 7:30 p.m.- CCVFEMS states that the fire is out. Command is sending in crews for rehabilitation, and relief crews are en route.

Watch for incoming emergency personnel, and expect delays around the area as they clean up and remove equipment.


UPDATE 7:18 p.m.- On Facebook, the Charles County Volunteer Fire and Emergency Medical Services (CCVFEMS) states that is is a grease fire that they cannot extinguish.


Waldorf, MD- A fire has been reported at the Waldorf Moose Lodge 4765 Crain Highway. A reader has said the fire was showing from the roof. Units are on the scene.

Crain Hwy southbound is shut down at Marshalls Corner Rd for fire department activity. Southbound traffic is being diverted onto Marshalls Corner Rd.

Watch for emergency vehicles and personnel.
