Calvert Sheriff’s Incident Briefs for August 13, 2019

During the week of July 29 – August 4 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,450 calls for service throughout the community.

Burglary: 19-43983-On July 30, 2019, Deputy R. Shrawder responded to Olivet Road, Lusby for the report of a burglary. The complainant advised sometime between 5:00 PM on July 29th and 5:00 PM on July 30than unknown suspect(s) broke into his residence, damaging the air conditioning unit in the process. The estimated value of the damaged property is $220.

Damaged Property: 19-44604-On August 2, 2019, Deputy R. Shrawder responded to Sitting Bull Circle, Lusby for the report of the damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between August 1st at 5:00 PM and August 2nd at 11:00 AM an unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle, removed his interlock device and slammed it on the ground. The estimated value of the damaged property is $500.

Damaged Property: 19-44795-On August 3, 2019, Deputy R. Shrawder responded to River View Drive, Lusby for the report of the damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between 12:00 PM on July 29th and 8:45 AM on August 3rd an unknown suspect(s) moved her flowers, birdfeeders, and furniture around on her deck, damaging the birdfeeder and the deck. The estimated value of the damaged property is $500.

Theft: 19-43699-On July 29, 2019, Deputy Mason responded to the Sheriff’s Office for the report of a theft that occurred on Harbor Road, Chesapeake Beach. The complainant advised sometime between 7:00 and 8:00 AM an unknown suspect(s) stole his customized aluminum crab pot cleaner from his dock. The value of the stolen property is $350.

Theft: 19-43767-On July 29, 2019, Deputy R. Shrawder responded to Lake Drive, Lusby for the report of a burglary. The complainant advised sometime between July 27th at 1:00 PM and July 29that 5:00 PM an unknown suspect(s) moved numerous items around in his backyard and stole his John Deere tractor. The value of the stolen property is $1,500.

Theft: 19-44228-On July 31, 2019, Deputy J. Ward responded to the Sheriff’s Office for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between 8:00 PM on July 30th and 6:00 AM on the 31stand unknown suspect(s) stole his Samsung Galaxy cell phone and a black USB cord from his vehicle. The value of the stolen property is approximately $515.

Theft: 19-44354-On August 1, 2019, Detective Cress was contacted by the owner of SDG Construction in reference to a theft. The complainant advised sometime between 11:30 PM on July 28th and 10:30 AM on July 29th an unknown suspect(s) stole his Stihl concrete saw from a job site on 27th and G Street in Chesapeake Beach. The value of the stolen property is $1,099.

Theft: 19-44974-On August 4, 2019, Deputy Grierson responded to Rudolph Lane, Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised on August 3rd between 10:00 and 11:00 PM an unknown suspect(s) entered two of his vehicles and stole change and cash from them. The value of the stolen property is approximately $10.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.

All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
