Rocktoberfest 2019 line-up officially announced

La Plata, MD- Rocktoberfest is an annual rain or shine music event held on the first Saturday of October. This year’s event falls on October 5, 2019. This will be the sixth installment of the event. The event happens on Charles Street in La Plata. More information on tickets will be forthcoming.

All proceeds benefit the Charles County Public Schools Music & Performing Arts programs. It is a family fun day filled with great live music, street & food vendors and a kid zone.

And today, August 8, 2019, the official line-up has been announced and man is it LIT! Not only do you have a plethora of amazing Southern Maryland artists and bands, but headlining this year is 90’s Rock band “LIT” whos hit “My own worst Enemy” gets everyone up and moving. The band is mainly described as Alternative Rock/Pop Rock and Post-Grunge.

Stage A(North)

  • North Point H.S. Jazz Band- 11:45 a.m.- 12:15 p.m.
  • Water’s Edge- 1:00 p.m.- 1:45 p.m.
  • Taboo- 2:30 p.m.-3:15 p.m.
  • The Gods Hate Texas– 4:00 p.m.-4:45 p.m.
  • Flippin’ Eyelids- 5:00 p.m.- 6:15 p.m.
  • Three Days of Rain- 7:00 p.m.- 7:45 p.m.
  • LIT- 7:45 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.

Stage B(South)

  • La Plata HS Marching Band- 11:30-11:45
  • Outside the Wire- 12:15- 1
  • The Urge- 1:45-2:30
  • Pretty Mean- 3:15-4
  • Spoiler Alert- 4:45-5:30
  • Port Donut- 6:15-7
  • Trilogy- 7:45- 8:30

Stage C(Lawn)

  • Drivin Muzzy Acoustic- 1-1:45

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.

To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
