Summer’s heating up, and that’s a “Southern Maryland Thang”

Mechanicsville, MD- It’s summertime in Southern Maryland and that means a few things…boating on the Bay, blue crab picking and 10 oz drinking.

Southern Maryland has always had a strong Local Music scene. Good Charlotte(Waldorf), Sam Grow, Philip Michael Parsons, Wakefield(Mechanicsville) and many more. The local scene featuring bands like HydraFX, ByeFelciaRocks, Three Days Rain, Iz’em; and single acts like John Luskey, Dylan Galvin, Wes Ryce, Billy Breslin, and several others.

For the past few years, Donovan Farrell has gotten together some of the best talents in SoMd for a collaboration. Several of them have been Holiday songs such as “ O Holy Night” and “Silent Night” along with the powerful ” True Heros“.

In April of 2014, they did something truly special though. They summarized SoMd for all the things we love and hold dear to us. A place unlike any other in Maryland, or the USA for that matter. And now the video is making its rounds again this summer.

So grab your 10 oz, invite your friends over for some horseshoes, cornhole, and crabs, and then sit back and watch some softball, cause it’s a “Southern Maryland Thang”
