The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners congratulated Northern High School student Allie Droneberger at its June 25 meeting for winning the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association 2019 Class 3A Track and Field Championship in the high jump.
Allie has been a member of both the Northern High School indoor and outdoor track and field teams and set the Northern High School high jump record for both teams this year. Congratulations on your achievement, Allie!
The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners congratulated Northern High School student Jasmine Holland at its June 25 meeting for winning the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) 2019 Class 3A State Track and Field Championship in the triple jump.
Jasmine was the MPSSAA 3A South Regional Champion in the long jump and triple jump and has been a key member and leader the past four years, collecting 12 different school records for the Northern High School indoor and outdoor track and field teams. Congratulations on your achievement, Jasmine!
The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners congratulated Northern High School students Claudia Dolan, Kathryn Lawless, Oakley Olson and Abby Setzfand for winning the 2019 Class 3A State Track and Field Championship in the 4×800 meter relay.
Claudia, Kathryn, Oakley and, Abby have also set the Northern High School record this year for the 4×800 meter relay. Congratulations on your achievement, Northern Patriots!
The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners congratulated the Northern High School girls’ outdoor track and field team, the Patriots, led by Head Coach Josh Dawson and assistant coaches Kevin Delamer, John Urdahl, Clayton Lewis and Andy Cerrito for winning the 2019 Maryland Class 3A State Girls’ Outdoor Track and Field Championship, with the largest margin of victory among all classifications.
Team members Claudia Dolan, Allie Droneberger, Jasmine Holland, Kacie Hoyle, Jahanah Jones, Kathryn Lawless, Diamond Lewis, Oakley Olson, Leah Powell, Abby Setzfand and Sydney Yankanich also earned the 2019 Southern Maryland Athletic Conference and 3A South Regional Championship titles. Congratulations Northern Patriots!

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.
To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
