Lawnmower blamed in Leonardtown shed fire

Leonardtown, MD- On Saturday, June 22, 2019, the Second District VFD responded to a shed fire on Blake Creek Road. The fire was discovered by a passerby and called in. The 10 responding firefighters had the fire under control n approximately 5 minutes. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was called to investigate.

The investigation revealed that a lawnmower in one of the two sheds caught fire. The fire spread to a second shed and destroyed both buildings and contents. The estimated loss of structure and contents is $8,000.00

The Fire Marshal’s report states there were no injuries.
