News Release, County Volunteer Fire Chief Mark Kaufmann Jr

Thomas (Tommy) Jenkins, 53 of Nanjemoy, Maryland passed on June 11, 2019 at Washington Hospital Center.

Tommy worked at many jobs in his life. Some of his favorites were planting, cutting and cutting tobacco for our neighbors, bailing hay, carpentry work (building houses or making things), being a dispatcher Fire/Ems center. He also loved being a volunteer fire fighter (life member). The fire department was a second home to Tommy and he took great pride in running it as president.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Jenkins, his daughter Autumn Marie Jenkins, his fiancee’s daughter Brianna Franklin.

He is survived by his brother Joe and his wife Wanda of PA, niece Barbie of PA, nephew Wes and his wife Denise and their two children of PA, his sister Joann of Nanjemoy, his fiancee Shannon and her sons John and Richard of Nanjemoy. As well as many loving aunts, uncles , cousins, and many friends.

Celebration of life will be July 13th, 2019 from 1400hrs. – 1600hrs and 1800hrs – 2000hrs. with Firemen’s Prayers at 1900hrs. at the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department or Round Table Haven.
