CBF Issues Statement on Proposed ACE Plan

News Release, Chesapeake Bay Foundation

(ANNAPOLIS, MD)—The federal Environmental Protection Agency has announced its Affordable Clean Energy Plan, a replacement for the Obama Clean Power Plan. The plan, designed to boost the coal industry, requires no state limits on CO2 and would permit increased nitrogen oxide pollution, as compared to the Clean Power Plan. Following the announcement, Lisa Feldt, Chesapeake Bay Foundation Vice President for Environmental Protection and Restoration, issued this statement.

“This plan is designed to thwart efforts to reduce emissions from the coal industry at the expense of human health and the environment. For the Chesapeake Bay, it is another missed opportunity to reduce nitrogen pollution as well as address sources of pollution that cause climate change. It is bad for the Bay and those living here.”
