Portion of event proceeds to benefit The Pride Center of Baltimore and Moveable Feast
News Release, Baltimore Orioles
In celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month, fans are invited to attend LGBTQ Pride Night at Oriole Park on Wednesday, June 12, when the Orioles take on the Toronto Blue Jays at 7:05 p.m. ET. LGBTQ Pride Night ticket packages, which include a ticket to the game and an O’s pride cap, are available for purchase at Orioles.com/ThemeNights. A limited number of VIP ticket packages also remain, which include a game ticket, an O’s pride cap, and access to a pregame party on the Center Field Roof Deck beginning at 5:00 p.m. The VIP party will feature music from local DJ ROSIE HICKS, along with passed appetizers and an open bar, courtesy of Tito’sHandmade Vodka.
The Baltimore Men’s Chorus will perform the national anthem, and several members of the chorus will perform the song “Brothers Sing On” in honor of their organization’s 35th anniversary during the pregame ceremonies.
A portion of proceeds from each LGBTQ Pride Night ticket package will benefit Moveable Feast and The Pride Center of Maryland. Moveable Feast is a Baltimore-based nonprofit that provides nutritious foods and other services in order to preserve quality of life for people with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening conditions. The Orioles will also host the organization at the Community Booth near Gate D during the game. The Pride Center of Maryland is a catalyst for uniting and empowering sexual and gender minorities in Baltimore and Central Maryland, and to advocate for a better quality of life for the entire community. Additionally, the Orioles Team Store has select pride-themed merchandise on sale, including keychains, patches, and koozies.
LGBTQ Pride Night is one of several theme nights scheduled throughout the 2019 season to further engage with Birdland’s diverse fanbase. Other such theme nights include Bark at Oriole Park, Father’s Day Catch on the Field, and Margaritaville Night. For a complete list of this season’s theme nights, visit Orioles.com/ThemeNights.
The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.
To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community. For now, donations will be going to a business PayPal account I have set-up for the Southern Maryland Chronicle, KDC Designs. All business transactions currently occur within this PayPal account. If you have any questions regarding this you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for all of your support and I hope to continue bringing Southern Maryland the best news possible for a very long time. — David M. Higgins II
