From Principal Pam Kasulke:
When visitors arrive at Sunderland Elementary, they are greeted by the warm, welcoming smile of Pat Zalusky! What a great way to start the day!
Pat left her Tiger friends behind and became a Seahawk secretary in 2001. Her positive presence and ability to anticipate the needs of others are simply two traits that define her. Throughout the day, you will find Pat happily working with parents and staff members who have questions, as well as students who may have office deliveries! Whether she is collecting a car rider note from a kindergartner, playing nurse to a first grader when the nurse is in a class, or offering encouragement to a fourth grader who is upset and trying to solve a problem, Pat is passionate about ensuring that all students, staff, and parents are feeling supported and successful. She believes in all of us!
Pat reaches outside of her comfort zone to improve her technological skills and supports the newsletters being added to the school website, as well as maintaining the electronic master calendar. With her organizational skills and efficiency, she works to make sure the office runs smoothly! She continuously seeks new learning opportunities for herself and accepts all responsibilities with ease while always thinking of ideas to improve our school and our efficiency.
Pat is a jack of all trades and she does them all…with a positive attitude and great pride! And that is simply one of many reasons that we are proud that Pat Zalusky is Sunderland’s Educational Support Person of the Year.
The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.
To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community. For now, donations will be going to a business PayPal account I have set-up for the Southern Maryland Chronicle, KDC Designs. All business transactions currently occur within this PayPal account. If you have any questions regarding this you can email me at email@example.com
Thank you for all of your support and I hope to continue bringing Southern Maryland the best news possible for a very long time. — David M. Higgins II
