Prince Frederick, MD- Educational Systems Federal Credit Union (ESFCU) sponsors an annual “100 Days, 100 Ways to Save” contest, inviting citizens to submit tips on how to save money. The credit union donates $500 to the school of the winner’s choice.

This year, CCPS webmaster Jessie Espenschade sent in the winning money saver and chose Calvert Elementary to receive $500. The principal, Dr. Joe Sampson, plans to use the funds to support student wellness initiatives.

What was her winning tip? “Incorporate an Automatic Savings Plan into your budget. Have a set amount automatically sent to your savings each month. You’ll be surprised how quickly it will add up!”
