From Principal Jaime Webster:
Northern Middle School is excited to announce Mrs. Elizabeth Megonigal as our Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Megonigal joined Bobcat Nation as a Science Teacher for the 2017-18 school year. Prior to coming to Northern Middle School, she taught at Huntingtown High School.
Since joining Northern Middle School, Mrs. Megonigal has made a significant impact on our science program. Her passion and love for her content are evident to her colleagues and her students. She has high expectations and makes learning fun for her students. Mrs. Megonigal structures her lessons to provide opportunities for students to connect their learning with real world examples. She cares about the success of each individual student and puts supports in place to help them succeed. Mrs. Megonigal has visited the homes of her students to provide tutoring and works with others during lunch. One of her students shared, “Mrs. Megonigal goes the extra mile to make sure we get the help and support that we need to be successful.”
Mrs. Megonigal supports Northern Middle School through her involvement with school improvement efforts and the PBIS team. Mrs. Megonigal is also our facilitator for Learning Focused professional development. In this role, she supports our teachers with integrating effective strategies into instructional practice.
Congratulations, Mrs. Megonigal, and thank you for all that you do to support our students, staff, and community!
The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.
To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community. For now, donations will be going to a business PayPal account I have set-up for the Southern Maryland Chronicle, KDC Designs. All business transactions currently occur within this PayPal account. If you have any questions regarding this you can email me at email@example.com
Thank you for all of your support and I hope to continue bringing Southern Maryland the best news possible for a very long time. — David M. Higgins II
