Conscious Discipline Free Workshop Part III: “Setting the Stage for Lifelong Self-Regulation”

News Release, St. Mary’s County Public Schools

LEONARDTOWN, MD – Childcare providers, community partners, and parents are invited to a FREE full-day Conscious Discipline Workshop on Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Housing Authority of St. Mary’s County, 21155 Lexwood Drive, Suite C, Lexington Park, Maryland. Conscious Discipline Part III: SETTING THE STAGE FOR LIFELONG SELF-REGULATION will be presented by Master Conscious Discipline Instructor, Amy Speidel. Lunch will be available for purchase from Chick-fil-A.

Participants will learn how the language of Conscious Discipline provides a foundation to empower children to be productive problem solvers when adults exercise positive intent (as proven with brain research). Content from previous sessions will be reviewed for participants new to Conscious Discipline.

This professional development opportunity is funded through the SMCPS’ Striving Readers Grant. Core of Knowledge hours will be available from MSDE. Please contact Ms. Lynn Trehern, Striving Readers Early Childhood Coach, at to reserve a space, or if you have a question.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
