Maryland Environmental Service Announces Second Annual Environmental Business Leadership Awards

BALTIMORE, MD – The Maryland Environmental Service (MES) is pleased to announce that nominations are open for the 2019 Environmental Business Leadership Awards. Winners will be recognized during the 2019 Environmental Business Leadership Conference on July 10, 2019 in Baltimore.

The award program highlights individuals and corporate citizens who have demonstrated support for the environment to the ultimate benefit of Maryland and its citizens. MES will present awards for excellence in sustainability, environmental restoration, and solid waste management, and there will be different categories for the public and private sectors. There is no cost to nominate an individual or business for an award, and nominators may submit their projects for multiple award categories.

“The seven awardees of this year’s Environmental Business Leadership Awards will again be individuals and organizations that have demonstrated strong leadership and determination to strengthen and preserve Maryland’s environment and economy,” said Roy McGrath, Maryland Environmental Service CEO and chairman. “This year’s awardees will follow in the tradition of previous winners who set a high bar and serve as outstanding examples of how business and the environment are mutually beneficial.”

General Criteria & Information:The following criteria must be met for a person or project to be nominated:

? Demonstrated positive impact on the environment.

? Demonstrated environmental excellence in the areas of sustainability, environmental restoration, or solid waste management in the State of Maryland and/or region

.? Support the mission of MES – to provide operational and technical services enhancing the environment for the benefit of the people of Maryland.

The deadline for nominations is May 31, 2019, and only online nominations will be accepted. The nomination form can be found at https://menv.com/conference/awards. Winners will again be selected by a panel including the EBLC Host Committee and the MES Board of Directors.
