Mechanicsville, MD- For the past 18 months The Southern Maryland Chronicle has strived to bring you the latest news from our community. We’ve brought you stories about our community, schools, crime, accidents, etc; all being reported accurately, and timely.
Recently, a discussion came up to us about bolstering our Breaking News coverage. For the past several weeks we have been having discussions with our newest partner on how we can work together to make this happen.
Southern Maryland Breaking News and The Southern Maryland Chronicle have formed a partnership that will bolster not only the Breaking News of Southern Maryland, but also bring a stronger focus on relevant news. You’ll still see the breaking news; accidents, fires, etc on the Southern Maryland Breaking News Facebook page, but now you’ll have The Chronicle to back it up and bring more information to the story.
The Chronicle’s Facebook page will focus more on the news of the day, rather than the posting of accidents, fires, incident reports. Having these two pages work in tandem allows us to put out more news and not cram it all into one page.
Over the next few months we will be working out the kinks and meshing the two together, so please pardon any hiccups. Our main goal is to bring Southern Maryland the most timely, accurate, relevant news without bias or pageantry… just news.
We thank you all for your support and look forward to this partnership and the growth it brings to news coverage for Southern Maryland. Please make sure to follow both pages for all your local news.
The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.
To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community. For now, donations will be going to a business PayPal account I have set-up for the Southern Maryland Chronicle, KDC Designs. All business transactions currently occur within this PayPal account. If you have any questions regarding this you can email me at email@example.com
Thank you for all of your support and I hope to continue bringing Southern Maryland the best news possible for a very long time. — David M. Higgins II
