St. Mary’s Women’s Rowing Finishes Third in Varsity Eight Grand Final at Knecht Cup

CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s rowing team completed competition at the Knecht Cup on Sunday (Apr. 14). The Seahawk Varsity Eight team finished third in the Grand Final and the Varsity Four team captured second in the Petite Final on the Cooper River.

How It Happened

  • The Seahawk Varsity Eight team recorded a third place finish in the Grand Final with a time of 7:47.41. St. Mary’s College defeated Carnegie Mellon, Catholic, and Bryn Mawr in the race. The Seahawks finished behind Washington College and the winner, Franklin & Marshall.
  • The St. Mary’s College Varsity Four squad captured a second place finish in the Petite Final with a time of 8:36.19. The Seahawks defeated the Merchant Marine Academy, Carnegie Mellon B, Franklin & Marshall B, and The College of New Jersey B. St. Mary’s College finished behind The College of New Jersey A team.
