April 13 at the North Beach boardwalk from 8-10 – NHS FBLA is hosting a Run for Hope 5K to support our community service project “Hope for Hundreds” on . This event is continuing to support cancer organizations in Maryland.  50% of proceeds will go to support our national competitors for this year.  The other 50% will be donated to cancer organizations, the specific ones are listed on the attached registration form and flyer.  Contact Nancy Tassa, NHS FBLA Advisor via email for more information.

APRIL 13 – COUNTRY DANCE.  For a fun time, come to the American Legion Country Dance in the Upper Level Ballroom at the American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206 at 3330 Chesapeake Beach Road East on Route 260 in Chesapeake Beach.  If you can’t dance, teachers will be available to give instruction.  One hour lessons commence at 7:00 p.m. followed by dancing from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m..  The Modest price of $15.00 per person includes soft drinks or draft beer and light munchies.   For information call (410)257-9878 http://www.ALpost206.org Reservations at LBloyer@verizon.net

APRIL 14– ALL-U-CAN-EAT BREAKFAST.  Start this Palm Sunday with a yummy breakfast featuring Hot Cakes, Sausage, Scrapple, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, Biscuits, Fruit, and Chip Beef.   Hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m in the upper level Dining Room in Chesapeake Beach on Route 260.  Public Welcome.    Adults $10; kids 6-12 $5; kids under 6 free.  Bloody Marys will be available for a nominal charge.  For information call 410-257-9878. http://www.ALPost206.org

April 16 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm.   Jump Around @ the Northeast Community Center. Not one, but many inflatables to play on. This event is for ages 2-5 and pre-registration is required. Please call the NECC at 410-535-1600 ext 8210 and reference Activity # 410333.

APRIL 18 –  GOOD FRIDAY SUPPER & COMMUNION – The Supper and Communion Service will commence at 6:00 p.m. at the Interdenominational Union Church, Rear Hall, The Church is located next to the North Beach Town Hall at 8912 Chesapeake Avenue.  This free event is offered with the compliments of the Congregation.  All are cordially invited. April 27 – End Hunger Bike Ride – We are expecting 700 cyclists through the Town of Chesapeake Beach. The busiest times are anticipated to be between 7:30am to 10:00am. Please use caution and be careful when driving that day.

April 27 from 10 am-1 pm Bayfront Park Community Clean-up – Join your neighbors and friends at this family-friendly community event and help keep Bayfront Park pristine and clean. We will meet at Bayfront Park parking lot.  Water, gloves, rakes, trash grabbers, and trash bags will be provided.  Dress for the weather.  If you have questions, contact Keith Pardieck

North Beach VFD Auxiliary’s Yard Sale will be held from 8:00 am until 12:00pm on every 2nd Saturday of the month from April to October. Please contact Diana after 5:00pm, at 410/231-1775 to  reserve a table.

June 15 from 5 pm – 7 pm Bayfront Park Nature Walk & Talk Series: Coastal Geology of Calvert Cliffs and Bayfront Park Beach.  Join Chesapeake Beach’s own Dr. Ken Rasmussen, Professor of Geology and Oceanography at Northern Virginia Community College, as he describes the ancient past recorded in our stretch of Calvert Cliffs, and the dynamic modern-day forces that continue to shape them today. Event suitable for ages 13+, minors must be accompanied by responsible adult. No pets please. The event is free but registration is required as group size will be limited to 15 people. The Beach Elementary School PTA Nominating Committee would like to inform you of the upcoming PTA officer elections and invite parents to consider becoming involved in PTA activities during the 2019-2020 school year. Our goal is to elect officers who will work to build the Beach community. The deadline for submitting applications is May 1, 2019.
