Calvert Volunteer recognized for service to community

The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners recognized Matthew Speelman for his volunteer service at the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad since 2016.

As a live-in member of the fire department and rescue squad, Matthew leaves his full-time job to staff ambulances daily. He has responded to a total of 3,105 calls during his short time at Company 6. He was also awarded Firefighter of the Year in 2017 and Emergency Medical Technician of the Year in 2018.
