Seahawks Downed by Hornets in Lynchburg

News Release, St. Mary’s College of Maryland

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s tennis team (1-1) concluded their weekend trip to Lynchburg by taking on the Hornets of Lynchburg College. The Seahawks fell to the Hornets 7-2.

St. Mary’s – 2, Lynchburg – 7

Doubles –

  • Jon Gorel and Ethan Garren started the day off strong as they took down Lynchburg’s top pairing in Bryce Barber and Shawn Ikegami with a score of 8-1.

Singles –

  • Gorel would go on to take the other Seahawk point for the day as he defeated Lynchburg’s top player in Bryce Barber 6-1,6-1.

Up Next for the Seahawks

3/11 – The Seahawks will travel to Hilton Head, SC. for spring break starting March 11th as they take on Mount Union College starting at 12:30 P.M.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
