Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter recognizes Southern Maryland residents

Southern Maryland residents recognized for outstanding fundraising efforts in 2018

[McLean, VA], February 27, 2019 – The Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter recognized community members across the region for their outstanding efforts in fundraising at a special reception on February 8 in McLean, VA. Among the honorees were twelve residents of Southern Maryland honored for their participation in Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.  They are (in alphabetical order):

  • Marian Ann Blair of St. Inigoes, MD:  Raised $8,805 as a member of Team Care Blairs
  • LeeAnn Charpentier of Waldorf, MD:  Raised $3,346 as a member of Team Walk the Plank
  • Brandi Cox of Bryantown, MD:  Raised $3,000 as a member of Team Southern Maryland Boot Scooters
  • Diane Daly of California, MD:  Raised $4,280 as a member of Team Purple Pancakes
  • Susan Dudley of Hollywood, MD:  Raised $15,398 as a member of Team Care Blairs
  • Leslie Harvey of Mechanicsville, MD:  Raised $3,736 as a member of Team Southern Maryland Boot Scooters
  • Allison Kline of Port Tobacco, MD:  Raised $5,000 as a member of Team Cora’s Crusaders
  • Wendy Latimer of La Plata, MD:  Raised $5,350
  • Dennis Poremski of Solomons, MD:  Raised $5,894 as a member of Team Asbury
  • Liz Purcell-Leskiner of Leonardtown, MD:  Raised $4,780 as a member of Team Solidarity Against Alzheimer’s
  • Jobina Spencer of Waldorf, MD:  Raised $3,171 as a member of Team IQW – (Improving the Quality of Work-Life)
  • Sheila Zattau of La Plata, MD:  Raised $10,161 as a member of Team Handsome Dad

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.

To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community. For now, donations will be going to a business PayPal account I have set-up for the Southern Maryland Chronicle, KDC Designs. All business transactions currently occur within this PayPal account.
