SMCM Student Receives Prestigious Simpson Scholarship in Egyptology

St. Mary’s City, MD- Studying abroad at the American University in Cairo for the Spring 2019 semester, St. Mary’s College of Maryland student Brandon Poppell ’19 has received the prestigious Simpson Scholarship in Egyptology totaling a sum of $6,000.00.

Brandon will pursue courses ranging from archaeology, to history, to art and architecture under Salima Ikram, one of the leading scholars in the field.
