We have a lot of homeless clients that coming to our office daily that are in need of supplies. Some of our homeless clients are sleeping in a tent in the woods. We want to make sure that they have the things that they need.
We are in need of the following items: Water bottle, socks, tuna & crackers, granola bar, cereal bars,fruit snacks, apple sauce,variety cracker packs, hand wipes, maxi pads, toothbrush & toothpaste, nail clippers, mint, cough drops and/or gum, notes of encourage or mini bibles.
What is H.O.P.E?
H.O.P.E. stands for helpers Overcoming Problems Effectively, is an incorporated non -profit charitable organization supported by local churches, community organizations, United Way and private donations. H.O.P.E. was formed in 1986 with the goal of bridging the gap between the needy and those churches and people who want to help them.
How does H.O.P.E. Work?
Since 1990 over 46,900 households totaling more thank 187,000 needy people have been helped with over 1,033,000. This money has help pay for electricity, fuel oil, rent, food, medicine and other emergency needs. Over 34,000 households of the total have been fed through the Church of Ascension Food pantry.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.
To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community. For now, donations will be going to a business PayPal account I have set-up for the Southern Maryland Chronicle, KDC Designs. All business transactions currently occur within this PayPal account.
