01/16/19-  Anna Sophia Van As-Hicks, age 34 of Leonardtown, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for FTA/Driving Under the Influence by Cpl. C. Beyer# 246.  CASE# 3088-19

01/16/19-  Patrick Neal Boothe, age 33 of Drayden, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for CDS Possession-not Marijuana by Dep. T. Snyder# 342.  CASE# 3089-19

DUIs:

1/13/19-  Cpl. Pesante responded to the 22090 block of Newtowne Neck Road in Leonardtown for the reported single vehicle collision.  The operator Meghann Emily Abraham, age 27 of Leoanrdtown, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol.  Abraham was charged with Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving Vehicle While Intoxicated.  CASE# 2640-19

01/15/19-  Dep. Westphal responded to the 43000 block of Wildewood Parkway in California, for a vehicle in the roadway, with the operator passed out.  Dep. Westphal observed the vehicle in the middle of the roadway, with the vehicle running and in drive; the operator of the vehicle had their foot on the brake, however was passed out.  After being awoken, the driver was identified as Daiquarius Jorge Gantt, age 23 of Port Republic.  Gantt was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.  After arriving at the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center, a baggie of suspected marijuana and two additional baggies of containing suspected crack cocaine were located on Gantt’s person.  Gantt was charged with Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Vehicle While Intoxicated, two counts of Possession of Contraband While in Place of Confinement -suspected Marijuana and Cocaine.  CASE# 2803-19

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.

To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
