A Dog’s Way Home is a 2019 American family adventure film directed by Charles Martin Smith and written by W. Bruce Cameron and Cathryn Michon, based on the book by Cameron. The film stars Ashley Judd, Edward James Olmos, Alexandra Shipp, Wes Studi, Chris Bauer, Barry Watson, and Jonah Hauer-King, and follows a dog (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard) who travels more than 400 miles to find her owner. It was released in the United States on January 11, 2019.
A dog named Bella embarks on a 400-mile journey home after she is separated from her owner, Lucas, who is an aspiring medical student. During the separation, Bella encounters a coyote pack in a forest. They are defeated by a cougar which befriends Bella.
On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 69% based on 26 reviews, with an average rating of 5.1/10.
On Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, the film has a score of 46 out of 100, based on 9 critics, indicating “mixed or average reviews”.
The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.
To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated.
