Potomac Speedway at Budds Creek releases 2019 Schedule

January 6, 2019 – Potomac Speedway has released our racing schedule for the 2019 season. We have added a variety of new ideas for this upcoming season. Starting on March 9th and March 16th we will have open practice for all divisions.

Opening night will fall on Saturday March 23rd with LLM, Crates, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, and U-Cars. Our Super Late Models will hit the track for the first time in 2019 on Friday April 5th for the 35 lap Cody Endicott Memorial.

A new class will appear on Friday April 12th the XCell Chassis 600 Modifieds, keep your eye out for a local driver wheeling one of those cars that night! Friday April 19th we welcome the RUSH Crate Tour Race paying $3,000 to win. This event is sure to draw the best drivers to the high banks that night! With great success last year, we are bringing DIRT DRAGS back to Potomac Speedway. This time it will be “under the lights,” an evening event. The dates are set for Saturday May 4th and Saturday October 19th.

Something new for our weekly Crates and Limited Late Models we have added “Shock the Clock” night will be happening Friday May 5th, Friday June 14th, and Friday July 26th. Limiteds and Crates will also have time trials during other high paying events during this season.

We are very excited to announce the return of the Mid-Atlantic Modifieds in 2019. Mark your calendars to attend on Sunday May 26th and Sunday September 1st to see those guys in action! Also on Sunday May 26th is RUSH manufacturing night- a lot of great deals and giveaways for our Crates that will be in attendance that night.

Super Late Models will be in action several times throughout the season Friday April 26th is set for the Ernie Jones Memorial paying $2,522 to win, Memorial Day weekend Sunday May 26th paying $2,500 to win, Friday June 21st the Gene VanMeter Memorial paying $2,500 to win, Wednesday July 3rd in the Budds Creek Battle Independence Day event paying $2,500 to win, Friday July 19th High Banks Hustle $2,500 to win, Sunday September 1st Labor Day event Huey Wilcoxen Memorial paying $2,500 to win, and Saturday October 5th the Larry Hills Memorial All About Wraps Night Clash for Cash paying $3,000 to win.

Rumble on the River Small Car Nationals weekend is set for Limited Late Models, Crates, Hobby Stocks, Street Stocks, Strictly Stocks, and U-Cars on October 10-12, 2019. Open practice is set for Thursday, Qualifying with 2nd Annual Pig Roast& Pit Party Friday night, and main events on Saturday night. Another top note is the added events for fun for all ages- Easter Bunny Night April 19th, Kids Ride Night May 3rd, Tire Rolling Contest May 31st, Pit Crew Tire Changing Contest June 14th, Autograph Night September 1st, and Pumpkin Paint Night October 12th.

We will complete our season on Saturday December 7th with our Annual Awards Banquet celebrating our 2019 Track Champions, Top Ten in Points, Rookie of the Year, and Sportsmanship Awards at the Mechanicsville Moose Lodge.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.

To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
