Freeze warning issued for this weekend

The National Weather Service for the Baltimore-Washington area has issued a freeze warning for the following areas:

  • District of Columbia
  • Southern Baltimore
  • Prince Georges
  • Anne Arundel
  • Charles
  • St. Marys
  • Calvert
  • Northwest Harford
  • Southeast Harford
  • Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria
  • King George

Including the cities of:

  • Washington
  • Baltimore
  • Bowie
  • Suitland-Silver Hill
  • Clinton
  • College Park
  • Greenbelt
  • Laurel
  • Camp Springs
  • Glen Burnie
  • Annapolis
  • Severn
  • South Gate
  • Severna Park
  • Arnold
  • Odenton
  • St. Charles
  • Waldorf
  • Lexington Park
  • California
  • Chesapeake Beach
  • Huntingtown
  • Dunkirk
  • North Beach
  • Lusby
  • Prince Frederick
  • Jarrettsville
  • Aberdeen
  • Arlington
  • Alexandria
  • Falls Church
  • Dahlgren

The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has
issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 10 PM Saturday
to 9 AM EST Sunday.

  • TEMPERATURES…The upper 20’s and lower 30’s.
  • IMPACTS…Freezing temperatures will likely damage or kill
    sensitive vegetation.


A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.

To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
