***MWR Fall Festival***

-SATURDAY, OCT.27 from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m | All with base access are invited to this year’s Fall Festival.

This event will feature a pumpkin patch, pie eating contest, inflatables, petting zoo and the frightfully fun haunted house (not appropriate for small children).

This will be held in RAIN OR SHINE.

EODEMON 5K

-TUESDAY, OCT.30 at 11 a.m. | Get your spook on with this haunted course through Stump Neck’s creepy woods.

Watch out for the EODemon’s on the course. Prizes awarded to 1st and 2nd place male/female finishers.

Open to everyone with base access.

TRUNK-OR-TREAT

-WEDNESDAY, OCT.31 from 5:30 p.m. | Come out to see some frightfully cool trunks at the NSF Indian Head Youth Center.

There will be light food, tasty treats and feared animal friends from Echoes of Nature.

This is free and open to everyone with base access.

DAY OF THE DEAD PAINT NIGHT

-THURSDAY, NOV.1 at 5 p.m. | Get inspired by the beautiful Dia de los Muertos art and paint your own sugar skull.

HOMETOWN HERO DAY

-THURSDAY, NOV. 8 at 10 a.m. | Come to the library to meet some of our oldest veterans, hear their stories and learn about their experiences in a different land.

Veterans from WWII, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and the Korean War will be present. This is free and open to everyone with base access.

DIY FALL MASON JAR DECOR

-TUESDAY, NOV.13 from 4-6 p.m. | Join us at the Mix House for a fantastic fall craft!

Cost: $5. Open to everyone with base access

THANKSGIVING TURKEY TROT

-WEDNESDAY, NOV. 14 at 11 a.m. | The Weight House Fitness Center would like to give thanks to you for dedicating

your time and energy to staying fit! Free for active-duty; $5 all others.

 NYC ROCKETTES TRIP

-SATURDAY, NOV. 17 | Register today at the Tickets & Travel Office on base and reserve your spot for this trip. 

MWR is taking a charter bus to New York City to see the Radio City Rockettes perform!  Space is limited. 

Cost:  $145, includes transportation and show ticket.  Trip details including departure and return time will be given once you register.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.

To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community. For now, donations will be going to a business PayPal account I have set-up for the Southern Maryland Chronicle, KDC Designs. All business transactions currently occur within this PayPal account.
