SMCSO DUI arrests for October 24, 2018

10/19/18-  On October 19, 2018, Dep. Ball responded to a reported suspicious vehicle at a closed business in the 28000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville.  The vehicle exited the business when Dep. Ball approached; Dep. Ball noticed the vehicle operator was unable to maintain the vehicle in its travel lane.  Dep. Ball stopped the vehicle and made contact with the operator Mariano Eliazar Molina, age 25 of Burtonsville.  Dep. Ball smelled an odor of marijuana, and Mariano showed no signs of alcohol impairment; a Drug Recognition Expert then conducted a Drug Evaluation on Molina.  It was determined Molina was under the influence of Cannabis, and was operating the vehicle impaired. Molina was charged with Driving Vehicle While Impaired by Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Driving Vehicle so far Impaired by Drugs cannot Drive Safely.  CASE# 55972-18

10/19/18-  On October 19, 2018, Dep. Forinash responded to the 47700 block of Park Hall Road in Park Hall for the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a single vehicle.  Upon arrival, it was learned the operator had fled on foot.  Anna Sophia Van As-Hicks, age 34 of Leonardtown,  was located in the woods.  Investigation determined Van As-Hicks was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.  Van As-Hicks was arrested and charged with Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol Per Se, and Driving Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol.  CASE# 56089-18 (No Photograph Available)


10/20/18-  On October 20, 2018, Dep. M. Beyer responded to the 38900 block of Dr. Johnson Road, in Helen, for the reported traffic complaint by an off-duty officer.  Investigation determined Tory Dinone Herbert, age 33 of Washington, D.C., was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.  Herbert was charged with Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol.  CASE# 56151-18

10/20/18-  On October 20, 2018, Dep. Chase discovered a vehicle in the roadway in the 22100 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park, with front end damage.  Investigation revealed Rene Roberto Lopez Ramos, age 30 of Lexington Park, struck a curb while operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.  Ramos was charged with Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving While Impaired by Alcohol.  Ramos also had an outstanding warrant for FTA/DUI from a previous arrest.
