St. Mary’s City, Md. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s and women’s cross country schedule for the 2018 schedule is here. The Seahawk harriers are looking to hit the ground running with new management at the helm as Michael Gentile takes over as head coach.
Last season, the Seahawk men finished seventh at the Capital Athletic Conference championships and posted three top-5 finishes. The St. Mary’s women won the Goucher College Classic, placed second at the Hood College Invitational, and came in sixth at the CAC championships in 2017.
St. Mary’s will celebrate its 10th season in 2018 with a five-meet regular-season schedule.
The Seahawks kick off the campaign at the Salisbury University Sea Gull Opener on Saturday, September 1, marking the program’s seventh appearance at this particular meet. The course will be raced at Winter Place Park in Salisbury, Md. at 9:45 a.m.
St. Mary’s follow up with the McDaniel College Green Terror Challenge on Friday, September 7 at 4 p.m. in Westminster, Md. The race features two courses – a 5K and a 3K – on both the men’s and women’s side. It has been seven years since the Seahawks have raced at McDaniel.
The Seahawks will wrap up September at the Shenandoah University Hornet Harrier Invitational on the 22nd at 9 a.m. The race will be held at the Kernstown Battlefield in Winchester, Va. This will be the programs’ first-ever appearance at the Hornet Harrier Invitational.
The teams will make their fourth appearance in the last five years at the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday, October 6 at 10:30 a.m. in Center Valley, Pa. This will be serve as a preview meet of the 2018 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships.
St. Mary’s will then complete the regular season at the Hood Open on Saturday, October 13 at 10:30 a.m. The race will take place at Utica Park in Frederick, Md. The Seahawks have been a yearly participant at the Hood Open since 2013.
The Seahawks will compete at the 2018 CAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 27 at 11 a.m. The championships will be hosted by Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, Va.
St. Mary’s then returns to DeSales on Saturday, November 10 for the 2018 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships at 11 a.m.
