Friday, August 10th at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 11th at 11 a.m., 30th Anniversary L’il Margaret’s Bluegrass & Old Time Music Fest – live music and delicious food in a family-friendly atmosphere.

Friday, August 10th and Saturday, August 11th at 7:30 p.m., Shakespeare in the City Presents Romeo and Juliet hosted by The Newtowne Players. See Shakespeare under the stars with the sixth annual Shakespeare in the City production, Romeo and Juliet.

Friday, August 10th, 6:00 – 10:30 p.m. – George Thorogood and the Destroyers at Calvert Marine Museum. George Thorogood and the Destroyers bring their high energy brand of blues and rock and roll to Calvert Marine Museum.

Saturday, August 11th, 7:30 – 8:30 a.m., Evolve Yoga Summer Tour: 2018! – Evolve Yoga and Wellness continues their summer yoga series at the Wharf. All are welcome. Donations will benefit local food pantries and animal shelters. Bring your mat, water bottle, towel and a friend (or two!).

Saturday, August 11th at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, August 12th at 6:00 p.m., Peach Party at POLW. The Winery is releasing a brand new vintage of Peach Mango Mambo! To celebrate they will have peach flavored everything. Stop by and sample the specialty drinks.

Saturday, August 11th, 2:30 – 4:30 p.m., Dee of St. Mary’s Public Sail – Experience the Patuxent River like never before aboard the iconic Chesapeake dredge boat, the Dee of St. Mary’s.

Sunday, August 12th, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., 80’s Themed Sunday Funday at The Lighthouse – Join SPICE Studio for a Sunday FUNday Series at The Lighthouse on Solomon’s Island. The day will begin with a FUN all levels Barre class taught by Kelley and Nicole, overlooking the water followed by a delicious “bar food” inspired lunch spread from the chef at The Lighthouse.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.

To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
