St. Mary’s City, Md. – St. Mary’s College of Maryland Head Athletic Trainer Jen Robertson announced Monday morning the resignation of Jenn Anderson after four years as the assistant athletic trainer for the Seahawks’ 19 varsity athletic teams. Anderson’s final day on the St. Mary’s campus will be August 3.

The Port Allegany, Pa., native is off to be an assistant athletic trainer at Division I Robert Morris University in Moon, Pa., a suburb of Pittsburgh. At RMU, she’ll be working with men’s soccer and softball.

“Jenn has been an instrumental component to the progression of the sports medicine department. I can’t thank her enough for all of the time and dedication she has given to the athletics program over the course of the last several years. I look forward to seeing what her future holds at RMU and beyond. We wish her the best of luck in her next chapter!” expressed Robertson.

Anderson began her St. Mary’s career as an intern at the start of the 2014-15 academic year before being promoted to the full-time assistant trainer mid-year. During her four years with the Seahawks, she worked primarily with men’s and women’s cross country, women’s soccer, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, and sailing.

“Working at St. Mary’s College of Maryland was a dream come true. Four years ago when I arrived, I felt at home and as I am approaching my departure, I still feel at home and welcome. I am thankful for the opportunity to have worked along such great colleagues and ambitious athletes,” remembered Anderson.

She went on to say, “I couldn’t have asked for a better supervisor. Jen is a blessing in disguise. She made work fun while still helping me to become the athletic trainer that I am today; I am truly thankful. I will miss SMCM for all it is worth, the friendships, the challenges, the opportunities, and the beautiful campus. I am blessed to have had four years at St. Mary’s and am looking forward to hearing about the future of the Seahawks!”

A national search for the next assistant athletic trainer will begin immediately.
