-Paperback Book Day
Monday, July 30 at 4:30 p.m. | Tiki Bar
Join the MWR Library and the Tiki Bar in celebrating Paperback Book Day! If you’re looking for a new book to read this summer, then this is the place to come. Free and open to everyone with base access.

-Europe Eiffel Tower
Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. | MWR Library
Build your own version of the Eiffel Tower with marshmallows and spaghetti. Free and open to everyone with base access.

-Flag Football Skills Challenge
Friday, Aug.3 at 11 a.m. | Ben Rand Field
Put your flag football skills to the test! The challenge is based on a 40- yard dash, Broad Jump, 3-cone agility, and the QB accuracy test. Prizes awarded to top 2 overall. Free for active-duty, $5 all others.

-Lunch Time Floats
Monday, Aug. 6 from noon-2 p.m.| Community Recreation
In honor of Root Beer Float day, enjoy a delicious treat on us. Come over to the Community Recreation Center for a Root Beer Float. Free and open to everyone with base access.

-Sprint Triathlon
Friday, Aug. 10 at 7 a.m. | Aquatics Center
Packet pick up will be Aug. 7- Aug. 9.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public. We must also be able to pay employees(part-time and full-time), along with equipment, and website related things. We never want to make the Chronicle a “pay-wall” style news site.

To that end, we are looking to the community to offer donations. Whether it’s a one-time donation or you set up a reoccurring monthly donation. It is all appreciated. All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community. For now, donations will be going to a business PayPal account I have set-up for the Southern Maryland Chronicle, KDC Designs. All business transactions currently occur within this PayPal account.
