Charles County Commissioner-Appointed Board, Committee, and Commission Vacancies Open

The Charles County Commissioners are seeking county residents who want to get involved in their community to fill vacancies on several boards, committees, and commissions. No experience required.

The Board of Appeals hears appeals of the zoning and land use decisions of the County Government, requests for approval of special exceptions, and requests for approval of variances. Application deadline is Saturday, June 30.

The Commission on Veteran Affairs is a new commission aimed to establish a consistent avenue of communication for our veteran community so Charles County can better understand and address their needs. There will be 10 veterans and three civilian members.

The Board of License Commissioners (Liquor Board) reviews and approves the issuance and renewal of liquor licenses in Charles County, and establishes penalties for violations. Members serve four-year terms. Seeking District 4 resident to fill vacancy.

All donations at this time will be going to furthering the Chronicle through hiring individuals that have the same goals of providing fair, and unbiased news to the community.
