Movie Spotlight: Life of the Party

Life of the Party is an upcoming comedy film directed by Ben Falcone and written by Falcone and Melissa McCarthy, the third film Falcone has directed that the pair co-wrote following Tammy (2014) and The Boss (2016). The film, starring McCarthy, Molly GordonGillian JacobsMaya RudolphJulie BowenMatt WalshDebby RyanAdria Arjona, Jessie Ennis, Stephen Root, and Jacki Weaver, follows a newly divorced mother who returns to college to complete her degree, only to end up enrolled in her daughter’s classes. Produced by On the Day Productions and New Line Cinema, the film is scheduled to be released May 11, 2018, by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Premise:

After Deanna Miles gets a divorce from her husband Dan and decides to go back to college, she ends up in her daughter’s class who’s not comfortable on the idea. Deanna, known as Dee Rock, plunges headlong into the campus experience and embraces freedom, fun, and the frat boys on her own terms and finds her true self in a senior year no one ever expected.
