The Waterpark is looking for Lifeguards – The Chesapeake Beach Water Park is currently hiring Lifeguards for the 2018 Season. Being a Lifeguard at the CBWP is a wonderful way to spend your summer and we offer Lifeguard certifications through our Water Park. All Lifeguards must be 15 years old by May 26, 2018. Fishing Creek Bridge update – The State Highway Administration (SHA) has confirmed that both southbound and northbound lanes are open for traffic. North bound traffic is running on the new bridge and south bound traffic will run on the old bridge for up to 2 more weeks. After this time period, both southbound and northbound traffic will run on the new bridge. Once all traffic is running on the new bridge, please expect the west side south bound sidewalk to be closed. SHA expects to operate under one lane intermittently during the next few weeks, but not for extended periods of time.

Take the Broadband Demand Survey – The Southern Maryland Minority Chamber Foundation, in partnership with last Mile Broadband of Maryland LLC, was awarded a Rural Maryland Council grant to conduct Broadband Demand Surveys in Southern Prince George’s and in Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties.  The results of the surveys will help bring affordable high-speed broadband services to your community.  The survey will take about 5 minutes to complete.

April 28 from 10m – 1pm. Bayfront Park Community Clean-up: In support of Earth Day (End Plastic Pollution) and to help prepare the Bayfront Park beach and boardwalk for the 2018 summer season, the Town of Chesapeake Beach is sponsoring a community clean-up event at the park. Please join us and help keep the town beautiful and our natural areas trash free. We will meet at Bayfront Park beach parking lot. April 28 – Motown Night – What’s your favorite tune?  The Sons of the American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206 will host a night with music by DJ Stephen Varney beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 11:30. April 30 at 6:30 PM in Chesapeake Beach Town Hall. Route 261 Bridge Relocation Meeting. CBOCS is involved in the relocation of portions of the existing route 261 bridge which is being removed this year.  During this meeting we will discuss the location for the relocation, the design of the structure, the signage to be created and the timing of the project.   After the meeting we will take a tour of various potential sites.
