(La Plata, MD) – The University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center (UM Charles Regional) is pleased to announce that Clive Savory and Crystal N. Hunt have joined UM Charles Regional’s senior leadership team.
As Vice President of Planning, Mr. Savory is responsible for strategic planning and community development, managed care, community benefits, marketing, and decision support. In this capacity, he will lead the medical center’s strategic planning efforts and oversee its marketing, public relations and community development activities.
“I am delighted to be a member of the UM CRMC executive team to help the corporation expand its leading role in providing excellent patient-centered care and improving the wellness of Charles County residents,” said Mr. Savory.
A seasoned health care professional, Mr. Savory has an extensive background in the healthcare field, including decision support, financial planning and analysis, general accounting and strategic planning. Prior to joining UM Charles Regional on Oct. 30, 2017, he served as senior director of planning and business development at University of Maryland Capital Regional Health and Vice President of Finance and System Controller for Dimensions Healthcare System. His lengthy career in the healthcare field also includes working for a number of other Washington metropolitan area health systems.
Mr. Savory is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Maryland University College.
As Director of Marketing and Communications, Ms. Hunt is the hospital’s primary resource for internal and external communications. She plans and directs marketing and outreach efforts consistent with UM Charles Regional and the University of Maryland Medical System’s missions and visions. Her areas of responsibility include strategic communications, media relations, publications and website management, crisis communications, and community relations.

With 20 years of experience in the communications field, Ms. Hunt brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to UM Charles Regional’s Community Development and Planning Department. Most recently, she was Public Information Officer/Chief of Media Services and for Charles County Government, where she spent the last decade promoting Charles County as a customer-focused, transparent government. During her tenure, Ms. Hunt established the county’s social media presence and served as the primary spokesperson and crisis communications professional. Her career experience includes working for Advancement Project and the Points of Light Foundation, both Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organizations.
Ms. Hunt has a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from the Ohio State University and is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Southern Maryland.

The Southern Maryland Chronicle is a local, small business entrusted to provide factual, unbiased reporting to the Southern Maryland Community. While we look to local businesses for advertising, we hope to keep that cost as low as possible in order to attract even the smallest of local businesses and help them get out to the public.
