Starts 2018 $50,000 richer!

A retired daycare worker from Prince George’s County is celebrating an unexpected  $50,000 boost to her bank account, thanks to the Maryland Lottery. The loyal player won the top prize in the Dec. 28 Bonus Match 5 drawing.

The 75-year-old won by following her weekly routine. She stopped at Clinton Crossings Exxon located at 8915 Woodyard Road in Clinton to buy a few Bonus Match 5 tickets for what turned out to be her lucky drawing.

That night, the Clinton resident decided stay up to watch the Bonus Match 5 drawing, which airs daily on WBAL-TV.

“That night when I won, I was so excited that I really didn’t get sleep at all,” she said. “I had my daughter check my numbers to see if I had actually won and she confirmed it for me.”

The happy mom plans to pay off her car loan with some of her prize and help others. “I would love to donate some of prize money to a local orphanage here in Maryland,” she said.

Also a winner is her lucky Prince George’s County retailer. Clinton Crossings Exxon earns a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize ticket in the game.
