Waldorf, MD- On Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 5:01 p.m. the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to Smallwood Drive for a reported vehcile fire.

The fire was called in by a passer-by. Four fighters took approximately 10 minutes to gain control of it. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate.

The Fire Marshal determine that the owner of the vehicle entered a nearby store and was alerted by another person that her vehicle was on fire. Two other vehicles were also damaged. The Fire Marshal determined that the area of origin was the engine compartment and it appears to be accidental.

This case is still under investigation.
