Hollywood business destroyed by accidental fuel fire (Video)

Description of Structure / Property:  1 Story Brick Commercial Building

Owner / Occupants:  Donald Insley

Injuries or Deaths:  Injury – one male had non-life threatening burns to his hand

Estimated $ Loss: Structure: $ 200,000.00     Contents: $  30,000.00

Area of Origin:   Inside of the work bay area

Preliminary Cause:   Accidental

Additional Information:   While replacing the fuel sending unit in a gasoline tank, a spark ignited the gasoline fumes in the work bay causing the fire to the building.  The employee sustained minor burns to his hands.  He was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital where he was treated and released.
